Hi all,

Anybody has an idea? I have EAD. Want to travel to Canada and come back. H1B(I94) is still valid. So my status is still H1B. Am I right?
Can I travel to Canada on H1B (by car or by air, not sure), not surrender my I94 and come back after about 2 weeks?

Thanks

Permanent residence can travel to Canada without taking a visa. Your status is H1B & in AOS. Check the visa requirements for Canada of your contry of origin.

Yes you can travel to canada without surrendering your I94. Make sure you tell the airline authority or border agent that you are going on a pleasure trip for less than two weeks. If your H1 is still valid and you have I94, I wouldn't meddle with EAD when you come back because there are uninformed BCIS border agents out there who would ask you for AP when you show your EAD.
On the other side of the border, I assume you have tourist visa or something to get into canada.
Safe trip and good luck
