Hi:
Can child under 21 be treated as a derivative of a green card holder? Green card holder is parent and child is currently living in
usa as a student on i20. If yes pls inform which form need to be filed.
Thanks ps. Parent received card in 2000 through his other daughter who is US citizen.

The child will be considered under Family Category F2A. This category has a priority date of Nov 1997, which means there is a waiting period of at least 5 years before he/she can become a permanent resident.
The alternative is to try to get H1 after completing studies.
