I don't know what the status of my labor certification is? Whenever I call my employer, he just says that there are no updates. When I asked him to send me a documental evidence that the papers were filed, he sends a mail delivery receipt which says that the papers were mailed to philadelphia regional office. I am employed in NJ.

The delivery receipt is stamped sep 25 2001.

Can anyone please help me find out the status from my employer?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Regards,
Munna.

Munna,

You can check your status by calling your SESA - providing them with couple of details about your employer etc. and you can get SESA case number. Also they will be able to tell you when your case was sent to Regional Office. There this case number will help you in getting DOL case number.

Was your LC filed from NJ? In that case your Region will be New York. I wonder why it should be sent to Phili.

If you have any problem in getting SESA case number - ask your employer to get your DOL Case No. and check on AVM.

Thank you so much for your reply.

So there are two reference number which I should have with me in order to know the status. SESA and DOL Case numbers. I will ask my employer to provide me these numbers and then I can check with AVM.

I really don't know why the delivery notice shows Phili and if my case was filed from NJ or not ?

Any more information that you can provide me to find the status from my employer would be of great help.

Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Munna.

Munna2...

If your company is located in NJ, then they made a mistake by sending LOC to Philly. Anyway call local SESA office as a employer(where your LOC was originaly filed) and ask them about your application. They will ask questions about company (like phone #, Address, Contact person who signed on application) before giving you any information. (Don't tell them that LOC is for U).
