I was laid off only one month after I filed my I-485. My EAD is still not approved yet.
My lawyer told me that I could either wait for my EAD then start to look for a job, or do a H-1B transfer when find a new job. Since the job market is so bad now, I may not be able to find a new job to do H-1B transfer within 14 days. After reading the instructions on how to use EAD from some immigration web sites, I had a feeling that I can only use my EAD to work part-time for other employers while I work full-time for my sponsoring company. I don\'t think that I can use my EAD to work full-time for other companies.
Any suggestion on what I can do? wait for my EAD then start to look for a job or else? Any inputs will be highly appreciated.
