I am a green card holder (family based) have had it for almost 2 years, and I want to get married to someone not from the states. I was told that I need to wait to get my citizenship before I could do that (3+ years), is that true? is there something I could do?

I would prefer that my wife studies when she comes here.

If she got F-1 visa and came to study and spend that time with me here, can I then apply her for a green card after taking my citizenship?

If I sponsored her for the F-1 visa, what is the probability of being accepted?

If she applied for a visitor visa to do part time studies, what is the maximum stay she can do?

You can marry whoever you want, but since you are a Permanent Resident your spouse will not be eligible for an immediate Immigrant Visa.

Yes. Best she applies for the F-1 prior to being married.

That won't work. You cannot study on a B visa, nor can you switch status to F without declaring your intent in advance.

Thanks for replying,
Ok, if she got accepted to have F-1 visa and we get married outside the US after taking the visa

Is she going to be able to share me the medical insurance and file the taxes jointly with me?

or both of us will need to appear as single till I get the citizenship?

I'm sorry I posted the message accidentally twice
The information you provided are really helpful, Thanks a lot
If she tried to travel back to the home country for a little while and come back.
Will she be able to go and come back while she has F-1 visa?
If she is asked if she is married or not at the port of entry and she said that she is married?, Would you expect any problems to happen?

Yes. If they find out she is married to a US citizen or permanent resident she could have problems with being let into the US with an F-1 visa.
