Gurus,

I have gone through the FAQ and other notes before posting this question. Please shed some light.

I got my GC in July 2002 and my wife got hers in March 2003. I am eligible to apply for Citizenship by this July. But my wife would be eligible by the end of this year. We want to apply together so that all the procedures can be done together.

My question is, can we apply together by this july, since I am eligible now. Or should I wait for her to be eligible before applying?

Only you are eligible right now and you can't apply together. Even if you apply together, when she becomes eligible, there is no certainty that you will get a chance to do the procedures together. There are several cases here where one gets stuck in name check and the other person sails through!!

I would suggest you mail your application by next week and beat the fee increase that starts this month end.

Naturalization is pretty much an individual process - certainly you *can* request group processing, but seldom anybody does because of the probability of getting both applications hung up in namecheck or other delays.

My advice - get your application in now, and have your wife send hers as soon as she becomes eligible.
