I am marrying a guy of American descent. We're having our wedding in India soon. Is it ok to have a civil wedding? Having fire ceremony pictures is mandatory during my interview here? This is a genuine wedding but he's here for 2 weeks. We do not have enough time. Please advice.

Get married

What is a fire ceremony? Tha't what I would like to know...

As long as you are married and have a marriage license, then your marriage will be recognized by the laws of the state which you are going to be living in. Wedding pictures are nice, because they are the nearest thing to USCIS to make a determination that you guys were married and people
came

However, there are people who get married in court and never have elaborate pictures like some of us who had big weddings and lots of people in attendance and the photographer who charged you an arms and butt. :D

Make sure you get the marriage registered and submit a copy of the marriage certificate when applying. Immigration officer might ask for the original at the time interview.
