Hi everyone,

I'm new to the board.. but please I really need help. I have some questions, please tell me what you know.

Currently I'm out of status.
I had just graduated from a university and I cant do anything with myself.
My mother is a permanent resident, and I've been told it would take 9 years for me to receive my permanent resident since i have filed under the I-130.
Now my concern is, I'm thinking about marriage with a USC. How long does that take from application to interview process? I live in NY and I dont know how this would work. During the period of time that I'm waiting, is there something temporary to allow me to work?

Currently I've filed for Family Unity Benefits under the Life Act. Has anyone have their whole family become permanent residents under this act? How long did it take? and what state do you live in?

I'm stuck in a bind right now, and I might be forced to move to Canada.
Please i need your help and support.
One more question, does anyone know the status of the Dream Act? It was actually in the newspaper the day before the London bombing. I thought i had a slight hope in that situation, but after the London bombing it was taken away from me.

Please give me any info you can.
Thank you.

Best way of getting a GC for you will be to get married to a USC. You will get a work permit within 3 months. I am not sure about how long it will get you to get GC in NY area.
