Please Help With DV Lottery Question

Hey Everyone, My Best Friend, soul mate, and true love is from Sweden and Currently lives in Denmark for Business. This greencard could potentially bring us together permanently and would make all our dreams come true. It is so important for me to help her do research and find out as much information about this as possible to help her. I do not want her to do this on her own, I want to be there for her every step of the way. I would hate for some tiny screw up affect the chances of me being able to see her again. I truly love this girl and she means the world to me. I will do anything to help her.

I have a very easy question. The DV bulletin shows the current month and usually shows the "upcoming" bulletin months. I have read online that if the "upcoming" bulletin reveals your DV lottery number that you need to "submit" your request for a interview. It was our understanding that the interview was scheduled for us and that we did not have to do anything. If we need to apply for an early interview, can someone describe what needs to be done. We have done all of the required applications and are merely waiting for her number to come up. Please read the portion below for help clarifying my question.

Check to See If Next Month’s Bulletin Is Published Early
If the Visa Bulletin for the upcoming month is published early, and your number is called there, you can apply at that time. Often the next month’s bulletin is published a month in advance. For example, the June bulletin may be published sometime in May. If your number is called in the June bulletin in May, you can submit your application in May.

The above portion in red is where my question is generating from. What form would we be submitting? I thought we were supposed to wait for our appointment to be scheduled at the embassy that we submitted our application to after being selected for the lottery in the first place?

Thank you All so much for helping! From The bottom of my heart I cannot thank you enough!

Ok, first of all. Please just forget everything you read on the nolo site. It is not at all accurate (and some of it is specific to AoS cases - which is not your type of case).

The pertinent questions are:-

What is your girlfriends case number (his the last three digits so it will be like 2015EU12XXX)?
Had she submitted her DS260? If yes - when?

Thank you for your response, I can find out the exact case number but I am pretty sure she said she was 32000 out of the 42,000 EU's.
yes she submitted the Ds260 right when she was able to which i believe was in May or April.

OK, so to explain the way it works.
  • KCC will process the DS260 that your gf submitted. That is taking around 3 to 4 months, so it is probably complete by now.
  • Next, your gf will have to wait and watch the visa bulletin until the EU number on the bulletin is higher than the number she has. 2015EU32xxx is a pretty good number because the numbers actually go up to about 50k. Her number is low enough to be pretty much certain that she will get an interview (the very highest numbers will not even get that chance).
  • Her number will probably be current about June (based on progress last year).
  • If that is correct that would be announced in the May visa bulletin (which WILL be published in mid April).
  • About a week after the VB is released, KCC will send he an email telling her to check her appointment on the same website where she saw that she was selected. She will have around 6 to 8 weeks advanced notice of the actual date during which time she will need to do the medical.
  • While she waits she should prepare all her needed paperwork and if she or you want to hang around here we can give advice and tips on what she needs to gather/prepare.
  • There is NOTHING she can do to speed up the process.
