Please help,new GC process

Hi,
My wife has an EAD with me as the primary applicant for the GC process.She has got a job in a comapny which has a pre-approved
labor for June 2000.

Is it possible for her to start the GC process independently by filing for I-140 etc?She is working on the EAD for which I am the primary applicant.My question is can she file for I-140,I-485 with the new pre-approved labor.

Her employer can certainly file an I-140 for her; don't see why she would want to file another I-485.
