Hi Guys,
I plan to land in Canada(Vancouver) from Seattle by Road. I plan to return as quickly as possible by doing only the min. required formalities..( I do not think there are any except
appear in Person with Landing Paper,Photo and financial documents) I have heard that I can land and just come back.(also I have Advance Parole) and maybe later I can go again to Canada and do the rest of Stuff (SSN, Health Card, etc.) when I get time.

Ques-->will it be possible to do as above or do I need to wait for my PR card by mail. (I am giving my Relative's Address)

Thanks
Neonica

Your plan is OK, you can land and come back, and Canada PR card is not required when you are coming back to US. It will be better for you if you provide any friend relative address in Canada at the time of landing so that your PR Card can be mailed to that address in Canada and once your friend receives it he can send your PR card through mail to you. Prepare a list “ Goods to Follow”(2 Copies) and get it stamped at the time of landing because it shows your Intent that you will be moving to Canada. Post your landing exp here for others.
Good Luck!!

I'm also palnning to go to Canada before my expiration date(May'12th). Do I have to carry photographs for PR card or at port of entry they take the pictures???

If I have to provide pictures, is there any particular format for the photographs??

Thanks Ginnu

Thanks ginnu..
Your Reply has made my mind very free now..
I also read the the "Newcomers guide" ( first 2 cahpters only needed)
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/pub/newcomer.pdf

Ques---> Since I will not be carrying any goods, can I stiil give them the "list of goods" and "list of goods arriving later".
Or I plan to tell them that I am landing now and will find a Job later and then move from US to Canada...
What do you say..

This is in response to reply of Ginnu...about the return to Canada with out PR card (PR card is not required).

From this forum I understand that one must have a PR card to return back to Canada because your initial visa is for One time use only (For Landing only).

Can any one clear this because I have the same plan & want to land & go out of Canada and plan to come back after a week or two.

You should take the list “goods to follow” if asked tell them you will be moving some time after finding apartment and then you will shift to Canada.

Safdarali: the other answer was that one could return to USA with out PR card and answer for that is still “YES”
If you land now your Landing paper will be stamped as “ not Valid for travel” and you have to fill up PR card at the time of landing and provide Canada address so that they can mail your PR card to Canada address, use any friend and relative address with zip code. Once your friend receives the PR card at Canada address he can mail it to you out of Canada. If you want to enter Canada with out PR card, you can still go to Canada, your friend can pick up you from US side, you can enter by rental car or you can cross any Bridge like Rainbow bridge by foot if you have not PR card and still want to enter CA before you get your PR card.

Thanks for the prompt reply Ginnu )

Now I understand that one can enter Canada with out PR card from Rainbow bridge or travel with a freind from US side.
What in case if I want to go to Pakistan & want to fly back & my freind due to any reason did not get my PR card?

Can I still re-enter Canada through Airport? I am only asking these Q's just in case I am not able get PR card then what happens????

Thanks for your advise.

in that case, the only option left for you is to go the canadian consulate in pakistan to get a single entery visa.

I have seen in this forum where people got single entry visa to sort out their problems with PR card.

Dig deep into other threads, you will find people who used it.....

Thanks a Bunch Jalma.

Now I have a very clear undersatnding about entering back into Canada. it will be as follows:

1. If PR card available...then no Problem:)
Else take a single entry Visit Visa from the Canadian Cousulate, I hope being a landed immigrant I will be having a right to get that single entry visa.

2. How to enter Back into US if H1 visa re-validation is refused by any one US Counsulate in Canada.
Go to home country & re-validate if refused again...come back to Canada & apply for a Visitor Visa B1/B2 for US & start your work again. I believe a multiple entry visit visa is not refused to the landed immigrants.

All Guru's-

Please let every one know if there are any issues in above. As I came to know that visa re-validation is refused for the nationals of all countries to whom Special Registration is applied. So there is no other choice with a national from above countries to stay in USA till his/her duration of H1 is over. I think this is unfair to the persons who's case is gunuine & want to re-validate visa's from St.Luois & get refused by State Dept.

Any advise/Suggestions.

A. If H1B visa stamp is refused in Canada go to your home country and get H1b visa if you have H1B valid approval.
B. H1B Visa stamp is refused in your home country you can come back to Canada as PR
C. You CAN NOT work in US by getting B1/B2 visa. it has to be H1 or L1 or O1 or any other work visa status, who told you that you could work on B1/B2 visa in US?
D. If your H1b is refused in your home country you will not get US Visa from Canada, your all information will go to BCIS computer.
Regarding the Revalidation in US who are registered you should ask your self why you cant get revalidation, US department has a reason to do it because certain countries sponsor terrorism and it is still going on, request your country head to STOP it .If you are still confused hire a US immigration lawyer who can answer to your concerns.

Lets not get political Ginnu...

Surely everyone has there own opinions about certain issues.

SafdarAli,

Your questions are legit and I would advise you to hire an immigration attorney. Do not take recommendations from this board to be legal.

Immigration is an important issue and you should always seek "proper" legal advice for it.

I would hire an attorney that deals with US and Canadian immigration.

Good luck.

Thanks Ginnu and Taxes you too. I appreciate all of yours experienced advise. Sure if I am not able to get H1 from St.Luios, Canada or from Pakistan then I will take help of an attorney.

Sali
