Is there any thing in these new bills for the guys who have masters in related field and 485 filed and have EAD. Even if your PD is not current does these bills talk about approving 485 with the qualifications(i.e masters and more than three years experience).

IS there anything for guys who have EAD and priority date not current through stem rule if they have masters in related field and more than three years of experience

kalimmigration,

I have the same questions as you. I don't think details of the STEM regulation are clear yet. I have read several different interpretations. Only if this becomes law will we find out the exact details and how this may or may not benefit us.

I am very interested in this because my wife is getting her Masters in a technical field and will be done by December. If somehow STEM comes into effect and she is able to find a job on her own then maybe we can get this damn GC through her. I have been waiting for years now and am not sure when I will get it through my own sorry process :)

I have masters in technical field from united states and have about eight years industrial experience(IT) in united states. My thing was filed in EB3 instead of eb2 at that time even though i was qualified for it. I have EAD for me and my wife but PD is in 2003. Iam not able to see any light at the end of the tunnel through this whole process. I think i can easily get a managerial job if i leave my present company but dont want to risk until i get my GC. So iam trying to understand if this stem rule is of any help to me. By the way my wife is finishing her masters too in technical field hopefully by july of this year. Yours is Aug 01 and i think you are pretty close

Actually now is the time to wait and see if the Bill survives Senate's vote. There are few encouraging things in the bill for STEM pool. For some 'speculations' on the subject take a look at the thread 'Advanced Degrees':

It sounds like STEM eligible applicants do not have to wait for PDs to become current for adjudication.

I came across the term 'progressive experience' when reading about the bills as a requirement. I hope it does not mean experience (>=3 years) following the Masters (in related field) before filing for 140/485.
