Please Help. How to change VISA from B1/B2 to TD

I applied TD visa. However, I received B1/B2 visa. I don not know why? I am going to live with my wife since she got a 3-years offer in LA. My questions: 1) Can I apply TD VISA again? (I have B1/B2 visa now) 2) How many months I have to wait, if I would like to apply TD VISA again? 3) What additional documents I need to submit if I would like to apply TD VISA again? 4) If I travelled with current B1/B2 visa once, can I apply TD VISA again? 5) Can I have TD VISA and B1/B2 VISA at the same time? 6) If not, how can I drop the B1/B2 visa?

I assume you are not Cdn?

If you are planning to live with your spouse in US, then TD is a beter visa for you, and you should get it at the consulate whre you got your B1/B2. But if you continue to live in canada and only visit from time to time, B1/B2 is fine .
But You should know why you did not get TD. Did you not have the required documentation (copy of spouse's TN, marriage certificate, etc)? Or did you not ask for TD?
 
I am not Canadian Citizen. I have Permanent Residence Card. I had applied TD VISA and submitted my wife's TN and marriage certificate. But I might misunderstand the questions"How long you will stay in this trip"? I filled in 5 months. Since we are going to come back Canada for vacation around July this year. I am not sure the reason. Can I apply TD VISA again immediately even I have B1/B2 visa now? Or I have wait several months to apply my TD visa again.
 
THe length of trip is not important, although answering 5 months indicated that you still live in canada, so B1/B2 is fine. You should havesimply indicated the entire period of wife's TN. You also should not have left consulate until they satisfied your request. You asked for a cat and they handed you a dog.

You can apply for TD tomorrow if you wish, but your B1/B2 will be invalidated.
