PLEASE HELP - H1B Start Date OCTOBER 1?

Attorney's PLEASE HELP

My h1b was approved on the 09/26/06. It was change of status (f1 to H1b). I am currently enrolled in classes to maintain my status till H1 Start Date.

My question is, since H1B has been approved, is it safe to assume that OCT 1st/OCT 2ND will be my start date of employment.

I have asked my employer what start date they have put on the application but they not sure / cant remember, and the attorney hasn't replied to my emails. Since my case was only approved a couple of days ago, my employer won't receive the approval notice until 7-10 days (or more).

I have also called USCIS but they dont have any information, they tell me the application was approved and that you will receive the notice within 30 days.

Can anyone please tell me if its safe to start work on OCTOBER 1/OCT 2?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have your Social Security Number?. You can start working from 2nd Oct, but until you get yout H1b approval notice with I 94 at the bottom + SSN you can not get your pay check.If company agrees for this arrangements you can go ahead start working.

Until and unless your employer specifies a start date, you should get a start date of Oct 1st. You should get your H1 approval notice shortly, better wait for it.
