Please Help for I-485 status

Today I called CSC to check status on my case and I was told that its pending for security check (FBI Name Check). As per my senator and FBI, my Name check was completed in July, 2006. I told IO that it has been cleared and it was confirmed previously by other IOs and I received email as well that its been updated in the system but IO said I was given wrong information. I really donot know who to believe. I am waiting for last 2 months after I got FBI clearance. It looks like there is some missing information in their system and they even donot want to fix it.
Experts please advice.

Are you sure it was an immigration officer you speaked to?
Make infopass appointment and talk to real officer, not CSR.

just wanted to give you an update on my case. Last friday on 10/06/06 our cases finally have been Approved . We saw an LUD on 10/06 but status message did not change till Monday, so we found out we were approved only yesterday.

It's been a very long wait for me and my family, we started the whole process back in April of 2001, and filed LCA in November 2001.

My company was not willing to file concurrent cases so we were stuck with solo petitions and I must say now, it dramatically turned out on us later when we got stuck in Name Check nightmare and later on in retrogression.

I wrote a couple of times to our Senator in CT (Dodd). His staff was very helpful dealing with the FBI (my NC got cleared in 3 weeks after they contacted Mr Hardy's office), and later this September when I again asked them for help since our cases became current but we saw no progress and VSC started again their saga about some sort of checks they were waiting for to be done...

It took Senator's office 1 week to get to our cases and they quickly found they all 3 application were sitting nicely on the shelf in Vermont only because some mail they sent to us or our attornie was returned to them recently, so they took the files out of normal processing room and placed them separately on Returned Mail Shelf/Department... For how long it would sit there nobody knows now, since I called VSC 3 times in the last 4 weeks and they told me nothing but WAIT...

My Infopass Appoinment gave me nothing again, a nice officer looked at my file from his NYC computer screen and told me that everything is fine and there is no reason to hold the case, but suggested to renew my EAD which was expiring in November as he said "you should probably be approved by March of 2007..."...

Of couse, waiting for next 6 mo, and spending another $1500 on EAD + AP was not in my plans I wrote and then called Senator's office which (IMHO) helped me to get a quick approval as I got approved in 3 days after they confirmed my current address.

A bit of advise...

If, your FP(s) expired, PD is current and you see no movement, call VSC and ask them about your case. This way we found they sent us FP requests which we never received, so we went to ASC in Hartford with our old FP notices and asked them to do it again. They did after some talking to Imm. Officer.

Then, make sure YOUR and YOUR ATTORNIE's address is current and UPDATED in their database, otherwise you can be waiting forever since they can't reach you by mail (nobody is going to call you).

And last thing but not least. If you/spose have a birthday coming up, contact VSC few weeks in advance to make sure they look at your file. They love to make birthday presents as I can see from my experience... They approved my LCA exactly on my birthday even though the rest from a bunch of other apps sent by my company were approved next day or next 2 weeks. Finally, they approved our I485 exactly on my wife's birthday... again a very nice present imho Pity it took them 5 years to get the message...


To make story short , for all you waiting out there I wish (G)ood (L)uck and fast approvals, especially to those waiting for long years, you well deserve it guys.

Thanks Chellencba for your response. I have asked my senator to help me since they informed me in Aug that my NC is cleared in FBI. I am calling CSC every 2 weeks and at first they always telll me that my NC is pending. When I inform them that it has been cleared they will say ok then its under review. Only yesterday IO told me that NC is not clear and my case is not under review.

As per your advise I will follow-up with my senator.

I called CSC today and got hold of a CSR.
She told me my case was under review. When I asked her about NC, she said it was pending. Then I said someone from CSC told me before it was cleared. So she said:"Let me check it again. Oh, yes, you are right. I just looked at the wrong place.". Don't believe what the CSR told you. They just don't know what they are doing.
 
Thanks eric1977 for your note. I think if they have updated my NC in their system, they should have given me some result by now. With my experience so far on this forum, it does not take that long after NC :mad: .

I have same experience as you. My NC was completed in 06/06, 2nd FP was done in 09/06, still waiting for the approval.

Yes, I did get. I always get LUD after my enquiry with USCIS.

How did you get hold of VSC? I used to be able to contact them with the numbers mentioned above, however it seems not working. Each time I was directed to a National Services Representative, who as expected knew nothing more than the online status.

Really appreciate if you can share the info.

Did you try to call them again to find out whther NC status has been updated in INS system?
The second time I called, the CSR there told me to be patient and not to call them every other day. It seems they have log that when you have called.
It is very frustrating after waiting so long for priority date to be current, NC check to be cleared, now we have to wait without a clue.
BTW: I called 800-375-5283. The automation system said they cannot find the status of my case. Have you tried this?
 
I have contacted my senator to check with CSC about my case. I would wait until next week to call CSC again.
USCIS have all the record when you call them. For the automated system I am not able to find my case status from last 2 months or so. I think some other people also have same experience.

Get an email response for the email I sent to CSC on Oct 5 today.
The California Service Center (CSC) does not accept inquiries from the general public via email. All inquiries must be submitted to the National Customer Service Center by calling 1-800-375-5283. The National Customer Service Center will route your inquiry to the appropriate USCIS District Office or Service Center, and will track your inquiry to a final resolution. If you've received a transfer notice regarding your case, please inform the National Customer Service Center at the time you submit your inquiry. The National Customer Service is available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, PST.

Nothing new.
