PLEASE HELP : Finger Printing at different location

My husbad and I got our code 3 Fingerprinting notices
for 09/19/07 in Texas.Due to personal reasons,we will be in Connecticut at that time.I was wondering if we can take that notice and get FP done on the same day in the local Hartford USCIS office.Do we need to schedule an Infopass apointment for this ? Or walk-ins are allowed ? Or are walk-ins allowed only at certain centers ? Do we need to provide them with any reason ? My 7 year old son did not receive any notice.
Please advice.Thanks.
 
I would try to go to your designated ASC earlier instead of trying to do it at a different location. Althought, I guess, trying to do it at a different location might be OK as well, but I would make it the 2nd choice (back up plan).
