Please Help: EAD and H4 issue

Hello,

My wife received her EAD (based on AOS I-485 petition) and wants to work. Now my H1B is close to expiration. I'm planning to extend my H1B, I don't know whether it's necessary to extend my wife's H4. In other words, my questions are (1): should I also request an extension of H4 for my wife?
(2) If my wife uses EAD for work, Is her H4 still in status even if her H4 get extended?

Unless you are 1000% sure of I 485 approval ,do not use your EAD. Get your H4 renewed until your I 485 is approved.

Getting EAD or AP travel permit nothing to do with I 485 approval. Even, attorney knows your I 485 will get rejected for some reason, he/she can go and apply EAD/AP along with I 485 (to get money from you) and get it approved even before your I 485 come in to processing. EAD processing dept does not care the condition of your I 485 papers at all. they just receive fees, check I 485 fees are paid and approve EAD after bio metrics

Several guys are in trouble by using EAD, but their I 485 got rejected after long time and their H1 or H4 cancelled.(did not renew h1 & h4)

With caution use your EAD, if you do not have confidence wait some more time to get your I 485 get approved.
