I have been waiting patiently for a response to my thread but it has been in vain so far. Please help or share info. if you have filed LC from AL or are in the process of filing labor cert from AL
I would really appreciate your feedback

I have the following questions, any responses, feedback would be greatly appreciated

1- Could someone please tell me if they have filed for Labor Cert. in AL recently ??
2- How long did it take them to get thru with it ??
3- The company lawyer is proposing putting out 3 ads over 3 months period, is that standard ??
4- Is there anything that can be done to reduce the number of "matching" responses from the ad ??
5- What effect is the recent economic downturn having on AL labor certs, if any ??

Your feedback and responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advance for your help and time.

patiently,
eefrog

APPROVED FROM ALABAMA SESA AROUND AUG 2002 AND FORWARDED TO ATL REGIONAL DOL ON 08/12/02

NOF ISSUED ON 09/04/02.

PLACED 1 AD IN NATIONAL NEWSPAPER AND NOT SURE ABOUT # OF RESPONSE RECEIVED FROM IT.

thanks savitha_76, I really appreciate your sharing some information with me, I was beginning to think that either there arent many people in this forum or no one is from the Alabama country :)
Anyways, your transfer date from AL to Atlanta is not that bad at all. Now what is NOF (Notice of finding), is it always in the cases where they need more information ??
Hope you'll keep in touch and keep sharing your information

NOF - INTENT TO DENY THE LC.

I CAME TO KNOW FROM MY ATTORNEY THAT DOL HAS RECENTLY INCREASED PREVAILING WAGES FOR CERTAIN OCCUPATIONS.

THEY HAVE ISSUED AN NOF REGARDING THAT... HAVE TO SEE IF MY EMPLOYER CAN MEET DOL REQUIREMENTS..

I know it has been a long time, but I am still interested in finding out what happened with your case. Did you get through with the NOF?
Please do share some more details.
much thanks.

Yes, It was a minor thing, as soon my employer replied to the DOL with the new wages he agreed to pay, it was cleared. My I-140 is also through. Now,I'm just waiting in the long TSC line for I-485 clearance.

Here are my details

PD- Feb 2002
STATE LC CLEARED- Some where around July 2002
Federal LC - NOF - Somewhere round beg of Aug 2002
NOF - Replied on sep 2002
Federal LC - Cleared on sep 2002
RD-I140/I-485 applied on Nov 19th
I140- Cleared on April 2003
I-485 - ? no fp until now.

What is ur status ?

Well congrats, seems you are half way through. With some luck I think I'll have my LC filed this week. Seems like you had a good run with the SESA.
I am way behind you, but if I get the same timeline as your case and get through to the I-140 part I'll probably be the happiest person.
Well thanks much for sharing your timeline with me. BTW do U mind me asking where do U work in AL ?
thanks,

I am in Bham and yes I am just applying for mine, it took a long time to get everything prepared, plus we have other ppl also in our company for which we are filing.
Is that a bad thing ? what would you advise I watch out for now that we have the LC filed with state SESA
Thanks for keeping in touch and good luck with your 485
