Please guide me to go to New york city INS office by train.

Hi Friends,

Today we received our approval notice and planning to go to 26 Federal plaza for Passport stamping on next week.Since we live in DC we are planning to drive up to North Jersey and then taking train to NYC.So please guide me to go by train from North Jersey.

Okay Here goes

From New Jersey take the NJ transit to New York Penn Station (last stop). There you can either take the A,C,E subway up town to 42nd street transfer to the N or R down town to City Hall this is good in winter as you will remain indoors all the way to City Hall. You can ask for directions there for Federal Plaza it is about a 3 min walk from the subway station.

The second thing you can do is to get off at New York Penn Station. Come out to the street walk along 34th Street to the 6th Avenue N,R (also B,D,F,Q etc)subway station and take the N or R to City Hall.

Ask around if you have any questions, New Yorkers are usually quite helpful when it comes to directions.

One piece of advice, I am not sure if you know this already but if you plan to make it a day in NY I suggest that you get the 1 day funpass it is $4 per day. It is valid for unlimited subeway and non express buse rides over a day and pays for itself and more if you take the subway more than twice. Enjoy
