Hi,

I got B1/B2 visa last month from US Consulate in Mumbai, India. But I
had input wrong information about my marital status. I am married and
my spouse is a US citizen but by mistake I entered single status in my
B1/B2 visa application. My wife is going to file a petition I-130 for
me. I want to rectify this mistake and I want to travel to United
States due to business work. Can I do that? and on safety side if I do
not visit US on this visa, will it help me in the approval of my
petition for immigrant visa. I am stuck with this question, please let
me know if there is any solution to this.

Regards,

Shah

Shah,
You are in a spot of bother. I would advise you to contact the consulate and try to speak to someone there. Best case, they believe you that it was a mistake. Worst case, they accuse you of misrepresentation.
Nothing is stopping you from using the visa. Whatever you do, do not try to undergo an AOS while visitng the US. Your DS-156 is most probably available to for DHS/USCIS to view. You make the call whether you want to use this visa or not. I would not, but that is just me. Choose wisely.
