Hi all,
I am writing this for one of my friend..His original bithdate and Birthdate on all records are different..he somehow got his birh certificate..B'cos his original birth certificate was not there. But they didn't add his information on records.Do anybody know that on birth certificate cases how INS will work?Like they may use agencies to find out whether it's correct etc..If so he may be in trouble..B'cos His birth certificate office doesn't have any records of him..Please advice...

The INS checks these dates very carefully and will issue RFE forcorrect and consistent certificates if there is a discrepancy. I have read on this forum about this problem before, and people have had to get sworn affidavits when these problems have occures. It has caused lots of problems for people. Different dates sends a signal to the INS that there is something fishy about the individual, so it becomes a potential security issue for obvious reasons, which will take some effort to overcome. Not impossible, but challenging. Sworn affidavits from several people knowing the individual for many years (immediate family members do not seem to qualify for these affidavits but unrelated long-time friends seem to have been the norm) seem to have worked for others.

thanku for the reply

bjorn,
thanku for the reply...Now all his records and the birth certificate which he got has same date..but his original date of birth is not that.None his documents shows his original Birth certificate..My concern is how INS will do on this?Whether they will check everbody's DOB with birth certificate offices ?or only randomnly selected cases?if you know more abt this please reply....

No, the INS will not check with birth offices when you were born. So, if all your certificates show the same dates, you are fine. Just keep in mind that this date is from then on your official birth date, not the other one. Meaning, for all future purposes, applications, and anything where you have to fill out birth date, you need to fill out the date that you submitted to the INS, so just forget about the actual date and start using the date on the certificates from now on.
