I already have got I-140 approved thru EB-2 NIW last year; Indian citizen
Going to complete PhD in 6 months; already have Master's
Published papers: 11; first author: 6
Two invited papers:I was first author in one.
Under review: 1: with myself as first author
Oral presentation: 8: all of them in US; first author: 4
Posters presented: 10: 9 in U.S; first author: 7
Reviewer for 2 reputed journal in the field: 3 times in 2006
Very low citation: since all these were published in 2006

Two very competitive fellowships
2 minor grants: PI in one of them
I can get strong letters from all over the world.

I have got 13 letters last year for my NIW, can I use these:
4 from U.K and Germany
9 from U.S.
Out of 13, 8 are independent letters
All the 13 letters are quite strong and well written and from top university people including 2 army doctors and scientists.

Please let me know if there is a chance with EB-1 EA. My NIW got approved with self-petition within 3 months in VSC.

more than what others think of you, based on your sketchy details, I think you should evaluate yourself critically against the USCIS requirements.

NIW

I sent 4 letters attaching pearsons memo and highlighting text which clearly states that transfer of pending i-1485 to newly approved i-140 is posible but nothing has happened so far. I think they wont do it. I am planning to retract my niw i-185 and file anothe rone on the basis of eb-1 eoa.

I disagree with perminator. There is no fixed no. of publication. It is more important how you argue the impact of your publication on scientific world.

My two cents: You need more publications to meet the published work criteria...16 is considered the bare minimum.
I totally disagree with this suggestion !! … It all depends on where it published and which field you are working !!

I was presuming he was working in the science / medical field.

The 'prestige' of the journal will only be considered to the extent that it is a professional or trade publication.

And I am just relaying what the AAO has said about that category and my personal experience.

Just one paper can create revolution in Science ... Why do we forget just a single contribution can bring Noble Prize!! .. Anyway come back to realistic world for our case as we are not nominated for Nobel … In my opinion number of publication doesn’t matter, number of citation and the impact of your paper on the field counts!! In turns the “prestige” of the journal comes automatically … 16 Publication in medical science is more than enough if you have good number of citations ... if you have low citation you can point on “prestige” of the journal and time constrain and future impact ...

What you have said is true in the real world, but its an evidentiary requirement and they have been pretty strict on it. I just saw some advice to adjudicators telling them to disregard the Thompson ISI impact ratings on journals... Its a sorry state of affairs!
