I just got my PhD in Engineering from SUNY and now working for a small company on a goverment (DARPA) project. The project is $2m/year for 4years and this is the beginning of the 3rd year.

I have 3 conference publications and 1 journal, other 2 papers are now under review for journal publication. I just want to know if I have big chance to go for EB1-OR.

Thanks.

Worth it a shot

Laser,

There are a couple of keys for EB1-OR.

First you should get a letter from your employer that your job is a permanent and for indefinite duration.

Second get good lawyer (one who know about EB1 and NIW petitions) and
collect all the documents such as publications, awards, etc.

Third get letters of recommendation

Finally for very award you have get a letter from the funding/agency which gave you the award explaining the importance and competition involved for the award.

INS says you have to satisfy 2 out 6 requirements but the more the merrier.

Good luck

Is the nature of your current work important for EB-1? Must it be
research related? My current work is more related to software development than to research. Any suggestions will be greatly
appreciated.

Yes

It is heavily researc oriented. I have talked to a lawyer. And I was told that I\'d better wait for some time till I have more publications, or I could find some big names to write recommendation for me.
