I am a Canadian Citizen working in US on a Green card. I am planning on marrying a girl, currently in the US on a visitor visa. Could you please advise me what options do I have to her status changed based on my immigrant status in the us? After change of status has been filed is she allowed to travel back and forth to her native country and the US? How soon would be allow to work in the US?
Please advise what forms I have to fill out to have her status changed from visitor to resident, plus permission to travel and for work permit?
Please advise.
Thank you in advance.

Now make a quick notes but you can make a search about what to do:
1. You can marry her.
2. As a green card holder you can apply for your spouse, but your spouse is subject to a visa number and priority date, which you must check the Visa Bulletin for timelines. In average the waiting period (unless you are from MEX, China or Philipines) is 3 years in which she must mantain her legal status if she decide to stay in the US.
3. You only can file the petition for Alien Relative I-130 for her and wait until her priority date become (check Visa Bulleting) and there is a visa number available for her.
4. When her priority date and visa number is available then she can apply for AOS if she is in the US or go through CP in a US consulate abroad in her home country.

If you decide to get the US citizenship, after that then you can apply everything concurrently I-130 and she can adjust her status, work authorization and permission to travel while on AOS.

Good luck,
