I'm sorry this issue may not be related to this forum. But I thought I will consult the experts here.

I got my GC last year and been dating a girl. She had come here on F1 visa and dropped out of college in Nov 2003. She has since been out of status and her visa is expiring in June 05.

In case INS catches up on her and deports her, will I get into trouble for knowing that she was out of status and that I did not inform the INS about her? Will my citizenship process get affected by this?

Please advise. Appreaciate it greatly.

Unless she was living with you, I don't think it falls under this category.

Even then, it has to be proven that you knew about her immigration status ... which won't be that easy.

Your best bet is to have her get back to legal status or leave the country asap.

Hey if she is good for you ...marry her dude ...(who am I to say that) .

This is something nobody can predict. It might be different from case to case. For example someone posted here in this alias recently that there is a Sardarji family in Virginia or somewhere the kids are citizens since they were born here and the husband has a GC or citizenship but the lady who has been living here for last 12 years had gone out of status for last 6 years. But INS is not deporting the whole family ....it is only deporting the woman .
