Our (me and my wife) case hase been approved in Fed 1st week. We went to stamping in Feb end and we received cards in march 3rd week. Now we again got approval letters from USCIS and It says the card will arrive in max120 days. Is it normal? do we need to do anything. Please advise

check your approval date

I got the mail second time for the same
but have not received the 2nd approval notice yet
All that you need to check is the approval date should match on
both notice. If not you have problem.

2nd approval notice

I am not sure what would be the potential problem.
Generally if you have different date then you have to report to
USCIS, Other wise there will be a confusion on which date you become
PR and it may create problem in your port of Entry

no problem

there should not be any problem since your alien registration card has the resident date since and expiry date. (with respect to your first approval notice).

Should not. Because all that matter is case number. At POE, what matter is that the green card. If I-485 case is approved and you have green card that is based on that approved I-485, there should not be any problem. BCBP at POE does not care about approval date.

In past, USCIS sent approval/welcome letters by mistake. Later retracted back and sent another notice mentioning that eariler letter was error. But if someone gets two approval letters, that is not the same case.

Thank you guys for your replies and good to know that its a duplicate notice. The approval notice doesnot any approval date like it was mentioned in the earlier one (that the case has been approved on so and so date etc) it just says this case has been approved. This one had a just a notice date 10-May-2005.
