Please assit me by advising on next steps and time for the GC processing in spouse based filling.
I am an Indian citizen and want to file the I-130 and I-485 applications concurrently in California for getting my green card. I have to go abroad starting Jan. 2007 for education and would like to have my green card in hand before I leave. Is it realistic to expect that I will get my Green Card by then and also can I file advance parol documents for travel abroad for almost a year?
Further, I am a H-1B holder and have applied for the GC thru my employment. Currently, I have my I-140 approved and waiting on the I-485 to be approved, but that can take a few years with the new backlog processing.
So, please advise and help me to understand how long will the process take for an Indian citizen married to a US citizen in California.
