Please advise on possible I-485 interview question

Can someone who has the I-485 pending (for more than 6 months) and also owns a house/property rent the property or house?

Will renting to someone cause any problem during an interview; as this adds to the income beside the salary he/she is getting from the regular job?
This income from the rent will show in the Tax Returns.

Please advise if you know the answer for sure.

Thanks.

Two issues here if I understand your questions correctly:
1. You are allowed to buy a property when your I-485 is pending. I brought my house even when I was on H-1 a few years ago.
2. Your rental income should be reported in your tax returns by laws.

Thanks HSMAN

I understand that one can buy property/home to live by yourself but my question more specifically is about a portion of your house or a separate apartment you own:
Will collecting rent from the tenant of your other property create any technical problem if there is an AOS interview?

Since it is sometimes said that you cannot have any other source of Income other than your regular salary from your employer.
I am on a EAD and AOS is pending for more than three years.

Ofcourse the rental income WILL be shown in the Tax returns.

Thanks.

If the income was earned while on EAD i would not worry much.

Collecting rent will not; but maintenance and other work on the property may. But since you have an EAD, no worries.

That's incorrect. There are no immigration restrictions on your sources of income; merely on who you can WORK for.
