Please advise: EB3 - [RIR conversion vs PERM]

My company is on the verge of converting all traditional EB3 cases to RIR. They also recently announced a layoff. This is my third year on H-1B extension. Would you advise on converting to PERM instead of converting to RIR ?

My reasoning is that once I clear PERM, I can at least get a 3 year visa instead of the extension on a yearly basis.

Thanks

In my opinion, recent layoff may create problem in RIR application acceptaence. Bring this to your / company's lawyer attention.

Don't convert. We have couple of bad examples in our company whose PERM was denied because of difference of requirement between RIR and PERM.

If your PERM is filed after the company layoffs, there may be a problem with the new LC.
