I was told my case is pending as the FBI Name check has not cleared
When I enquired with the FBI Name Check Service personally in Jan of 2008 I was told that my name check was cleared in Jan 2007

Second EAD Filled: Jan 4th 2008
Second info pass appointment: Jan 9th 2008
The Immigration Officer agreed that name check and fingerprints were indeed cleared in Jan & Feb of 2007 respectively. At the same time he told me the case was assigned to an Immigration Officer and I could get a reply in 2 weeks.
Third info pass appointment: Jan 29th 2008
I was told that the file was lying on an Immigration Officer’s desk and I will be informed as soon as a decision is made.
Fourth info pass appointment: Feb 18th 2008
I was told that my file has been transferred to the National Records Center by mistake instead of the Nebraska Service Center. I was told may be the Immigration Officer has taken action on the file but nobody knows what that is since the file is with the National Records Center and what I would now need to do would be to go to the San Jose Field Office as I lived in San Jose and ask them to request the NRC to send file to the San Jose Field Office after which they will decide how to proceed with the file. My Priority Date and processing date are both current at this time. Each of these transfers pushes my processing date by several months as the receiving office reassigns the processing date to when they receive the file.
