Dear all,
I filed my DS230Part-1 and sent to NVC for further processing on 01/16/03. My case was a labor substitution in which it was mentioned that the permanent job position is for Minniapolis state. Now While filing the DS230 Part-1 form I have mentioned my current Atlanta address in the item No. 10 and 11 as a permanent address, since right now I do not know which address in Minniapolis my company will move after getting the GC. Kindly advice me what should I do now?. Is this is a big concern for Consular officer in India?. Or he can denie the approval?.If I mention him during the interview that I will move to Minniapolis and address written is due to confusion, then is this OK?. Actually seeing the lengthy processing wait time in NVC is this is OK to inform them and ask for another DS230 form? OR this is the normal case for CP?Please advice me.
Thanks

Address in the DS 230-Part I

Gcbol,

You need not worry about this.

The location of the intended job need not match with the address where you live right now.

You would have mentioned your current address in item: 10 and 11 which is a fact.

I would be surprised if I hear, any one saying that the consular officer has questioned the address issue at the time of the interview.

Please clear or advice!!!

Thanks Raju for your quick response. Actually if you look at the item # 10 on DS230part-1. It says "Permanent address in the USA where you intend to live, if known". Now since my Labor substitution was for Minniapolis(means I have to move to this state after GC)and I wrote my current address as permanent address against item # 10 & 11, Is this is not a matter of concern OR confusing for Consular officer since they must be having all the papers including Labor,I-140 and other papers. Please be more specific or please quote if you or anyone have any such cases known. Please advice since I am real worried. Thanks

Re: Please clear or advice!!!

dont worry gcbol, you will come out wihout any problems...

But, why didnt you ask all these Q's to your attorney at the time of fillup the forms...so that you will not have this tensions.

Permanent address if known.,

You do not have the address where you are going to be working.
So, what you have now is the place where you are.

If ( this is a big 'if' ) the Consular officer points this out, tell him the fact. My general advise is 'stick to the truth or as close to the
truth as possible'.

It is my strong feeling that, this would not be pointed out. However I am not speaking out of personal experience.

raju, sri-il, Thanks a lot for your advice. I hope this should not be an issue during interview now. If anyone else had similar situation before please post your detail.

Share opinion please....

I called my lawyer and as per his suggestion I have two option :
1) Call NVC and ask them to return ds2301 part-1 and correct the item # 10 and send it back to them. OR
2) During CP interview explain the officer about the truth and hope for the best and tell him that it was due to confusion.
Guys, Please suggest me what is best solution here, since NVC takes so much processing time I do not want asking them to return my paper. Should I let it go and be prepare to putup my case as option 2). Raju and SRI-IL I also feel that you are right but I strongly need all your advice what should I do know. Thanks a lot.

gcbol,

Option 2 looks more logical to me.

If you have to give a probable location in item # 10 then, what do you say in item # 11 ?

So, instead of taking this confusing path, and getting delayed,
keeping it the way it is , seems better to me. I am sure some members would have faced similar situation.

It would be better if we hear from them.

However think it out.
