Please advice !! Pending 485 & H1b extn

Hi everyone,
I have appiled for 140/485 concurrent in 2004 and my 140 was approved after a RFE and 485 is still pending. I changed my employer on H1 and applied for labour using PERM ( EB3 category ) from new company and got approved last year.Then applied for I-140 using perm labour cert and got approved. I can't apply for I-485 with new company because of retrogression.

Now i will be completing my 6 yr of H1b in Dec and have to apply for H1b extension.
Can i apply 3 year extension with approved I-140 and cant apply for 485 with new company ??

or will i get 1 year extn since I-485 is pending ???


Is any body in same boat ?? Pls advice.

don't know much about it, but i am about to put in an i-485. may get caught in retro. probably not, but still c ahnce. immigration said that if it happens, the application will be o hold. and depending on the center, may get work autho while is on hold. don't know if that helps you or not.
 
Thanks guys for your answer !! I don't want to lose H1b status, since i am not married and want bring spouse on H4.

What I understand is that if you have an approved I-140 you can get 3 years extension beyond initial 6 years.

I understand that if you are from a retrogressed country then you can file for a 3 yr extension.
