I need ur advice..
I got my passport stamped for gc(551) in 1st week of June.
I am waiting for GC cards(plastic cards)..Now the question is :
Can I join the client as permenant employee meaning leaving my current employer who processed my gc..
Will it create any problems..

You can join. If your company creates problem, you have to manage it. But, you can join...

Certainly you can leave your employer provided your GC was not obtained by fraudulent means! This is your burden to proove if INS came after you!! I am pretty sure you are not belongs to above category, the only other obligations are contracts between you and your employer, Your employer and client. If you are sure you will not have any problems(non-compete contract) from your employer and both your employer and client agrees, I will not see any other problem in joing with your client.

As far as I know, you can join the client immediately after
your I485 approval. There is no problem from the INS side
unless your employer creates the problem of notifing INS
about this move saying that you have departed from them
aginst their will! Of course, if both the parties are happy
with this move, there is absolutely no problem. But frequent
moves may create a problem when(if at all) you want to be
naturalized!!

To be in the safe side wait for at least 3 months(some
say 30 days) before you join your client.

As always seek some legal advice!!

The new regulations is still not clear about this issue .
If your employer does not complain , there should not be any
immediate problem .

As per the lawyers , with the current laws INS may look at your
case only at the time of getting citizenship.Instead of applying for
citizenship after 5 years , apply after 7 years as they need
employement records for the last 5 years.
