Please advice...It's urgent(I-485 Interview)

My I-485 interview is scheduled for 14th Sep. My current EAD is valid till Sep 7th.
I had applied for my new EAD in June. My receipt date is June 29. In case if i don't get my new EAD before 7th Sep, What should i do ?

Should I stop continuing my current job and sit at home till 14th Sep ?

What should I tell to an imigration officer during my Interview ?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
 
Well, GC is for future employment. So its not necessary that you should be working all the time. You are now under Pending AOS and can afford to remain idle.

So if by any chance, you dont get your EAD by 7th, take that week off from work (You are not allowed to work without work authorization). If the officer asks you (most probably they won't), tell them that you are on unpaid-vacation, and that you had planned to start work on getting your EAD. (Show them the receipt that you have applied for renewal).

Need not worry

Its ok dont worry too much, I am in the same boat, yesterday I called my lawyer she told me,need not worry about this issue becuase you already applied for renewal and you have a receipt number and you applied for renewal before 90 days right it means your receipt number is a validity and your status, if any one asks to show or proof of status, you can show them old ead and receipt they can validate whats going on why its taking time to approve the second ead, thats all about it buddy and not necessary to stop work for that week, but you can call your lawyer about this issue and they will suggests you what to do. I am following my lawyer all the time and till today I dont have any issues. Buddy I am not a lawyer, but what I have I am sharing with you, may or might be different opinions wiht different lawyers.
Better to talk with your lawyer.

Just having receipt number is not sufficient to work on EAD. If you have completed 90 days go and get an Interim EAD. But Stop working immediately after the expiry of EAD. In case you need to go to the interview when EAD is not valid show them the offer letter.
In case you do not get an appointment for EAD and If you are not approvable (e.g.EB3 ,Security check etc.) at the time of interview ask them issue an IEAD during the interview itself
 
but what if i already have an approval notice that states that my EAD is approved and it will be mailed seperately? does that mean i have to wait for the actual plastic card to work? thanks?
