Hello r_nandwani

You mentioned "Recv by Lawyer on:4/15/2003".
So did INS send your plastic card to your lawyer?

I thought plastic card are sent to the applicant's
residence address.

FOLKS

Hello Folks

Is anyone aware of the physical card process, for PP being stamped at center other than the approved center. Like if the applicant moved since 485 application. What happens then?
Does the card get printed at stamping center or Region/ OR does is go back to originbal center.

We moved and our passports stamped at a different center.

CARD not receive yet. Hence the worry.

IAMAKING

P.S
The application for the actual card with the thumb print is taken while stamping is done. So will that application be sent to local processing center or back to the center of Initial Application.

If your passport stamp expires and you still haven't received your plastic card, then you can get your passport stamp renewed from any bcis center. You don't have to go to the center that approved your gc. But when you move you should definitely file change of address form so bcis can send plastic card to your new address.

The status didn't change in both AVM and online. It still says "Your application is transferred to Local INS...".

Stamped on May 8 2003

Got the passports(self and wife) stamped on May 8 2003.

Here comes the another spell of waiting :)

it's taking 8mos+

for NSC approvals to receive the actual plastic card..and until u get that..it's nothing man...trust me...the orange stamp on the ppt is simply a proof of status..so it's not over till the fat lady sings.
for local transfers, the plastic card seems to arrive in 6weeks or so..
Cheers

Approval date :- April 22 2003
PP stamped:- May 13 2003 at San Francisco
Was told that we have to wait 8-12 months for plastic card

Does the online status of the 485 case change when the plastic card is ordered?

Or do we get a new LIN when I-89 (or whatever the form that one completes during passport stamping) is filed. If so, when do we get it?

Thanks

hey bud..this is what folks tell me..

the original I485 case # when entered, and when the actual PC is ordered, then the status goes something like this:
"Your I-89 was ordered on XXXXX"

and from there, usually it takes 10 days to actually receive the card..though these days,I am told it's taking 1 year+ from the date of stamping to receive the actual PC.
Which means folks may have to go and get their ppts restamped..
Uggghhhh!!!!
Cheers
Jack

I received the plastic card yesterday both for myself and spouse.

Interview date: 04/22/03
Approved date: 04/24/03
Stamping date: 04/29/03
Plastic card : 05/24/03

The online case status is not changed since Nov'2002. It still says "Your application is transferred to Local INS...".

I also received a Welcome Notice on 05/13/03, for "I-181 Creation of Record of Lawful Permanent Residence". It stated that I am welcome to permanent resident status in the US and that I will receive the card within the next 3 weeks.
