Plastic card question

Hello,

I recently checked my case status on the INS website. It says that 'on ...... date we have ordered plastic cards.' My question is , how long does it normally take to receive the actual plastic card from this 'order date'? Anybody has any ideas?

When did you obtain your approval,and was yours a local Transfer?

My AD is AUG 2002. And I think my RD is JULY 2001. Actually I received my plastic card on 4/11/2003 in mail. It is finally over. (My spouses's card was ordered 8 days later. So we are still waiting for it.)

Jack, mine was not a local transfer. Pretty simple case.

May I know the INS website to check one's case status?

Is there any phone number from where one can get my status?
I tried that 408-??? number but it is always engaged.
Please help

This site asks for the receipt number.
Is this receipt number of I-485, or does INS emails us the new receipt number for plastic card.
Does the receipt number starts with LIN*****, or A* for NSC candidates?
