Plastic Card question

I got my I-485 approved 2 months ago. Does anyone know how long does it take for one to receive his/her plastic card after I-551 stamping on the passport.

My friend who stamped in April \'01 got his card in 27 days!!!! which is clearly an exception.
They misspelled his wife\'s name on the card and they had to apply again for a correction.
He is still waiting for the corrected card.
