Plastic Card Ordered per AVM, when should I get it? Gurus, please!

My I485 was approved on 10/12/2001, passport stamped on 10/22/2001, now AVM message changed to: ... new card was ordered on 11/16/2001.. How long will it take to get the plastic card after ordered? Thanks!

Is it necessary to have passport stamped. Any problem if you just wait for the card, have it and that,s it.

When you do the passport stamping, that\'s when you apply for the plastic card and give INS photographs for the plastic card. so if you do not do the stamping, you will never get the platic cards. Of course, this is just my opinion.

gc_ss is right. You will never get your card until you
go for the stamp. That is where they fill out another form
of application for the card. This, I guess, is not an opinion.
