plastic card lost in the mail

Well, I posted this in another forum, but since did not get a reply, I am posting this here. Hopefully someone might answers to help me.

I got the card order completed and card mailed email on July 18. Still no sign of the card. The I-485 approval notice came promptly a few days after the approval the prior week. My attorney asks me to wait 30 days after I get a welcome notice. My FP was code 3, and all biometrics were done during FP. I was never asked to make an infopass appointment. Nor did I have to go through an interview.

- How long does it take to get the welcome letter after approval, in cases were FP was code 3, and no interview was done?

- Should I wait a few days or make an infopass appointment for passport stamping right away (Can it be done even after the card has been mailed)?

- When should I file I-90 for a replacement card?

Most of the I-485 people never get welcome letter. In past they used to send welcome letter only for those people who got GC thru consular processing. But recently I saw couple of I-485 applicants received welcome letters too, but not all.

Yes, definitely you can do that. You can set an appointment. Describe the whole sutuation and ask officer what you should do. For temporary purpose you can get stamping on passport.

I would recommand you to wait for a few more weeks. Did you changed your address recently? Is it possible that you have old address in your I-485 application?
 
Thanks for the reply. I never changed my address for over two years. And the I-485 approval notice came promptly to my address.

Strangely, yesterday the LUD changed to card ordered message once again! Dont know what's going on.
