Plastic Card after passport stamping

Does anybody know if the online message will be changed from 'Approved' to 'Card Ordered' after passport stamping and how long it takes to see the change ?
The passport stamping officer told me that it takes from 1.5 months to several years to receive the card, is really that long ???

where did you do your stamping, of late it has been getting frustratingly long wait for the card. some people get it in 4 weeks, some have not got it even after 8-12 weeks, there is no set timeframe that is being followed by the service centers.

Yes the online status changes twice before your card arrives in your mailbox, but even that has not been happening correctly to several folks here. some after significant amount of wait have got their card but the online status according to few folks never changed to indicate the obvious.

So be happy and keep your fingers crossed. FOR ALL PRACTICAL PURPOSES YOUR STAMPING IS YOUR GC until the card arrives, so relax and don't worry too much about it.
