You are placed on waiting for interview as soon as your FP and name check clear.

So whatever the person told you on the phone is obvious!! Anyone on this board coudl've told you that.

Did the officer tell you if your name check and/or FP have been cleared? What is your DO? If its is Washington D.C, Fairfax DO. You will get your IL based on your priority date. I think currently they are processing 10/30/09 as what I have noticed from the fairfax Do board. Chill until at least start of next week...wednesday next week you will hear something.

my DO is (Detriot)

my DO is Detriot. i did not asked her if my name check is cleared. i guess i can get a response here. when place for interview, does it mean FP and name check is cleared? since she told me that i was placed on interview on 11/30/2009. my FP was done on 11/18/2009. i gues that was when my name check was cleared. FBI told me my FP was sent back same day.

Check detroit DO to see what others are reporting.

I like how you were proactive in calling. Can you provide the FBI and USCIS
numbers you called. I'm told the avg wait for NY is 6mths, but i'm getting
antsy. thanks

I got FBI number from somewhere in this forum. check some of the post u will find the number. as for USCIS their number is on ur FP appointment letter.

N-400_2009,

have you received the IL yet? I was told today that somebody is working on placing me in queue for an interview. This is the first time I get this info after a thousand calls. I thought that once you are in queue, it shouldn't take long before receiving the actual IL...

Hi N-400_2009 -
Do you have any news? You were placed in queue exactly one month ago. I am sure that by now, you have received you IL...
I was told to wait 2 weeks for the IL. I hope they're right.

IL received.

Received my IL today. i will be posting update on october filers forum.

How do you get to the 2nd level officer, I tried calling yesterday, the customer service person whould not give me any more information and said they had nobody who could give any more information.

Congrats N-400_2009!!!!

VIP 1R - It took me a while to get transfered to a 2nd level IO. Most 1st level IOs won't escalate your call unless you have exceeded your local DO's processing times or you have a very specific issue such as missing an appointment. Since your case is so new, you are going to have to be very creative. Maybe you can tell them that you haven't received your fingerprint notice, and you just happened to go online and saw that they did send one to you early December. You don't have to tell the 1st level IO that you submitted your fingerprints already since this person can't see your file, they can only read the notice that was sent to you, but other than that they don't know if you submitted your fingerprints, if you are in queue for an interview or if your background check is still pending. A 2nd level IO has access to all this info, so once you are transfered you can ask him/her whatever you want to know about your case.
Good luck!

Is this normal ?

There is somewhere in my Interview Letter that said "the proceeding will take about 2 hours. if for any reason you cannot keep this appointment, return this letter immediately to the USCIS office address listed below with your explanation......Is this normal or just the standard terms of all interview letters. I read some folks get done at interview in 10, 20 minutes. Guys with interview letters, respond pls.

I wouldn't know if this is normal... Maybe somebody can answer this question.. I haven't received my IL yet..

I called USCIS today and a 2nd level IO told me that my IL will be mailed today :-)
I hope she was right!!!!!
