My frined wants to file his EAD and AP without Attorneys help. His company is not allowing him to file EAD.

---------------You have to file with your service center for EAD fill up the form I-765 and for AP fill up the I-130 Form and pay the fees to BCIS and attach copy of I-485 filing receipt. One you get the above, post new thread if any info needed to file EAD, AP
His company filing his green card based on substitute labor (i140 and I485 and EAD for his wife. Not for him. So he can't change the job. How he can ensure attorney and company has filied his papers properly. What information he need to ask from them and they are liable to give him.
---- Once they file lawyer will get I-140 filing receipt, I-485 filing receipt for you and your wife and EAD filing receipt for your wife. Once lawyer sends the application to BCIS generally BCIS sends receipt notice in 10-20 days (some service center delay it like NSC) you have to check with lawyer or employer for the receipts. Once you get the receipts no need to inform employer that you are filing EAD,AP once EAD,AP approved and you get EAD card and AP keep it with you. It will be sent to your home address and lawyer or employer will not know that you have EAD card or AP. If you are thinking of changing employer do it only after I-140 approval and I-485 pending more than 180 days.
