PIO passport endorsement - how to check status and how muc htime it takes ??

I coudn't find separate thread for PIO so posting it here , sorry for that.

I sent about 1.5 weeks ago my son's new/old (original) passport with original PIO to indian embassy new york but haven't received it back

Any one has done similar thing ...any idea how much time NY emassy generally takes to return back ??


or any idea how to check the status..I have tried to call 'em multiples and sent multipleemails but no luck

Interested to know the status. I am in the same boat.

I sent my daughter's PIO card & US passports (old & new) for endorsement by mail to NY consulate. I would like to know the typical processing time. Also, If I travel to New York to track it down, will it help? I have planned an India travel on 22nd Dec 2010.
