PIO card-houston-processing time-urgent-help

Hi everyone,
Can anyone please post PIO card processing time for houston? Looks like this is the worst embassy branch in the usa. They dont answer phones, emails or faxes.

We have already booked tickets to india and are waiting for the PIO card for our daughter..this is urgent..

Also, if we visit the embassy personally, would they give it to us? or even a temporray india visa ?

I am EXACTLY in the same boat. I sent my daughter's application by mail and it was received on Oct 24th. I spoke to a consular before I sent it and she was extremely helpful and said I will get the PIO card in 4 weeks. Now at the end of 4 weeks and travel scheduled for Dec 2nd I cannot get hold of anybody!! I finally got someone on the line and they said PIO card processing time is 35-40 days!!! I have no clue how to proceed since my daughter's original passport is with them.

PIO card processing varies

Times for processing PIO cards vary in Houston(2-6weeks). They don't respond to phone calls or emails. They generally speed it up if you personally go there & let them know that you are travelling soon and need the PIO in a hurry.

I got my new born son's PIO in around 3weeks.
