Pilot Testing question...

Tomorrow's my interview in Albany NY (Latham), but I don't understand why I haven't received any letter regarding pilot testing, since Albany is a site that is "beta-testing" the new exams. From what I heard on this forum, you're supposed to receive some kind of notice in advance and you get to choose if you're gonna try it or not.

I wasn't planning on taking it anyway, but I'm just worrying that they're gonna force it on me or something, since I only studied the old test (96 questions).
 
Any input? I wonder if this is normal not to receive a notice for the pilot testing, and whether I should be worried.
 
Just go through the new qns and study it a bit, they are quite similar to the old ones. Try to do your best, many of the qns are gen knowledge.
 
Here is some information on the new pilot test. Only certain district offices are testing this so depending on what your DO is, it might still be the old test. Then, the CD that you got is more than enough to get you through the civics test.

Q. What will USCIS pilot?

A. USCIS plans to pilot 142 U.S. history and government questions and approximately 36 reading and 36 writing items. The topic areas include principals of American democracy, system of government, rule of law, rights and responsibilities, American History, and geography. About half of the questions include rephrased versions of questions on the current test. All citizenship applicants in the 10 pilot areas who are scheduled for their naturalization test during the pilot will receive advance copies of the civics questions and the two lists of vocabulary for self-study.

USCIS has also posted these study materials on the web at: http://www.uscis.gov/natzpilot.

The actual test will become available to the public.

Did anyone read what I asked? I know what the test is, I'm just asking if they force people to take the pilot test at these location, or if you can choose between the pilot and the old test.

I'm asking this because I did not receive any letter from them, and I know that Albany NY is one of those sites.
 
If you click on the URL and read the information from that page that I posted in my previous post, it states the following:

During the trial period, volunteer applicants who choose to take the pilot test can immediately take the current test if they incorrectly answer a pilot question. To pass, applicants will have to correctly answer six of 10 selected questions.

The IO will most likely ask you whether you want to take the pilot test or the current test during your interview. I don't think they can force you to take the pilot test and it would be your choice to say yes or no to it since it's still the trial period for this test.
