We didn't stay in Vancouver, we just went there to take our plane to Montreal. We didn't even got out the airport... But from what I saw in the plane, Vancouver look very beautiful... But very expensive to live in

NYC is pretty expensive ... but just for the rent, everyday life in NYC is kind of cheap except the rent compared to Canada. I shiped a tablet pc to Germany from nyc for just 30$... the same thing from Montreal to Calgary is the same price... over expensive... If I would have shipped this pc to any part of the USA except Hawai, porto rico and Alaska it would have cost me just 11$

Yes, The Economist recently listed Vancouver as the most expensive city in North America to live in - ahead of NYC and LA even! Real estate is ridiculously overpriced. Too congested, horrible traffic and very expensive for everything but wages aren't the greatest nor are jobs that plentiful. It always looks gorgeous in pictures but there aren't too many days like that, with blue sky. Vancouver is known for being depressingly grey and wet, even on many summer days. Those mountains in the pretty pictures are often invisible - hidden behind endless clouds. Besides, pretty scenery isn't the key to happiness or a successful life. Many people love it but IMO, it's overpriced and overrated.
