Picking appointment after e-file

I e-filed EAD renewal yesterday and have been trying to reach the NSC 1-800 number since morning to schedule an appointment. However, their wait times are very bad. I have waited more than 15 minutes 3 times today and then several times I hung up after 5 minutes. (I know I know, but I cannot stay too long because of the situation at work.)

My question is, am I doing it right or is there an easier way like automated scheduling or, you know, interactive phone system or some such. In other words, do I have to speak to a rep?

You have no other option other than calling the 1-800 folks to schedule an appt. Alternatively, you could go to the nearest ASC and tell them you did e-file and wanted to do biometrics stuffs (remember they will definitely ask for the receipt copy for the EAD filing), sometimes depending on the work load they do it without proper appointment. Again this completely varies from one ACS to the other.

It worked for me, why don't you give a try ?

Good Luck

Thanks ManiG. It seems like a good option. Since I work in Boston and the nearest ASC is not very far away. And maybe I will take an appointment right there for my wife if they do that sort of thing.

Thanks for letting me know. Much appreciated.

Dear eadwoes,
I was on phone for 25 minutes before I got some one to answer my call. You have to just hang in their.
The customer service answers the calls from 8am to 6pm. So you may try after your working hours.

Goodluck

Today I waited more than one and half hour to get the response from 1-800 number. I was informed that they are not authorized to schedule an appoint for iEAD.

Let me know where is the local centre at Arilington VA for iEAD.

You don't need an appt in order to apply iEAD. You just walk-in early in the morning, i would suggest going at 6 am, you have to show your EAD application receipt. Remember, most district offices are issuing iEAD's ONLY after 90 days of your case pending with the service center.

Again, you don't need an appt for iEAD

Best time to call 1800 #

try calling number at about7:50 AM... they opens at 8:00 am... keep repeating the AVM messages or keep checking the status of some cases. also about every other minute go back up to main menu and try to get hold of the live person.... This way you will be first of few in the line and you will get person in about 10-15 minutes...

In day time it takes about 25-35 minutes to get hold of a person...
