Physical presence impact on Green card

Hi all
I have a question regarding my friends case. He got H1 and now his green card is applied. The company client is overseas. He is going to work there for long and company will file the taxes here.
What impact will be on his GC application being his absence from US and is there anything that he should take care of.
What will happen if his GC application got approved and he is not here. He is british citizen and dont need visa to enter US.

Thanks for any feedback.

Unless he is subject to US taxation, I have no idea why he would want to do this. If he or his company are in the mood to give money away, they can make a bigger difference by giving it to me.

There shouldn't be any problem, especially if he applies for an immigrant visa at the US Embassy in London at the conclusion of the process. (He cannot file an I-485 since he would not be physically present in the US.) And yes, he does need a visa to enter the US - the only way he can get around this is via the VWP, which precludes working and does not allow immigrant intent.
