Photos for EAD

Guys

I have a question regarding EAD photos. I usually go to a photographer close to my office and home but am now working at a client about 30 minutes away. I was wondering if you guys go to anywhere generic for photos (Kinko's etc.)?

I tried Kinkos before but they didn't do it. Maybe someone knows somewhere else I can try? Thanks. Otherwise, I'll make the trek at lunch.

Thanks!

try cvs.we did it at cvs this time.u can get 16 copies for $8.but if for 2 ppl are sharing then u can get 8 copies each for only $8.it works that way at cvs at ny city.

Thanks! I'll see if there's a CVS near here.
My lawyer put an extra "warning!" note in with the forms I have to sign, regarding the importance of the correct pose for the photographs. Good to know that CVS may do it.

I'm not sure there's a MotoFoto in this area.

Thanks guys!

You may try COSTCO if you have membership... that is very cheap and very much professional.

You need to them that you need this for immigration purpose !!

Thanks! I just called the local CVS and they assured me they can take immigration photos so I'm going to try there at lunch. It saves me the trip downtown to the other place. I'll take the guidelines with me to make sure they're done correctly.

Should be able to send everything off tomorrow.

Thanks again!

I got it done in Walgreen for $7.99 for two photos.

Some WalMart ($9.99 for 2) also do it... and most of Sears (very costly about $25.99 for 2) do it.

Got them done at CVS. Good deal too - 16 photos for $8!
They were done by digital camera which was nice and easy.

Thanks again.

The problem with CVS photos is that they are digital. You may get an RFE for photos in that case. They may be okay for passport, but not for EAD. INS clearly mentions that they need to be on a polaroid. May be polaroid has lobbied them or may be INS hasn't updated.

That is the reason why others are expensive and CVS is cheap.

I had no idea digital was a problem!
I will send to my lawyer and hope for the best. I'd hate to have an RFE for the photos.

Thanks for the info.

Digital pix is fine

hey scottie,
I got my EAD thru digital pix from a local photozone. No RFE. Person who got an RFE for digital pix probably took it at home ! Make sure you got your earrings back.

try picturepeople

For EAD, CVS will not work ,this is sureshot way to get an RFE. Walgreens do immigration pictures (EAD/AP/485). I tried picture people (locate in each Mall) may be you live close to some Mall.
i haven't recive any RFE.

good luck Scotgirl.

:) :D

never had problems with digital photos....

During the 485 submission took at AAA, members have 2 photos free, they took digital photos.

Last year for renewals, photos submitted were digital, no RFE, maybe we were lucky afterall !!!

Guys, thanks very much. Seems like people have had different experiences. I'd really love to send these rather than go and get different ones taken but I want to avoid RFE also. I have e-mailed my lawyer to ask if these will be sufficient. No word yet....

Any other experiences are welcome.

Thanks,
Scottie :)

frantic,
soon after i got my digital pics from cvs i measured the width of the face and it fits the criteria which is on your link....so i guess there should be no probs.

The thing that is keeping me calm is that the woman at CVS totally knew what she was doing (as if she'd done it loads of times before). She measured the dimensions exactly right on the computer after telling me that it was set up to do exactly immigration specifications.

I imagine the problem would be that with a digital image, there is the possibility of manipulation of features or whatever....polaroids would not have that problem.

dont worry.. digitals are fine too

I have the experience of three eads (2 for 485) behind me and all were done at Ritz. They take digital pics and zoom in or out and compare them to immigration ovals.
Never had a problem with them.
Good luck
