Manzoor,

There was discussion on this. Read it slowly and carefully you will get the answer.

http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=265894

In summary, you can validate your photo in this site:
http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/photo.aspx)

Once it said you photo is valid (means you passed the size 300x300 pixels) then you make sure that length from chin to head is 150 to 200 pix and from eye to bottom of the photo around 170 to 200 pix.

You can get those size using Microsoft Paint.

Hope this will help.

http://www.uploadgeek.com/uploads456/2/DSC01315.JPG

so which one would be acceptable ????

also if they both are incorrect then please please tell me how to do them and with which tool

Thanks
Manzoor,

I could not see your picture above. Error 404, file not found. If I can get it I can help you to validate.

To make sure the photo is not stretch, make sure you just do only the Strecth under Image pull down menu and reduce the vertical and horizontal only with the same size. For example if you make horizontal 30% the vertical should also 30%.

You can combine this strecth effort with cutting the photo using the square dotted box on the upper right of the tool box menu. This one exactly like what ferdous ask you to do above.

You can validate your photo thru the website. Do not worry you can do validation how many times you want. Have your ever done this validation?

Monzoor,

same here 404 for the first two pictures. The original is not sharp, so it is not acceptable.

Be warned: the "validation" that the dvlottery site does of your photo only validates the pixel size and file format. It won't tell you if you have bad lighting, or the wrong head size, or if the resolution is wrong, or anything like that. It also won't detect whether your image has been altered in a way that might get you disqualified. There are really no clear guidelines about this, but I would imagine that merely cropping a picture isn't forbidden, but airbrushing out that mole on your chin is a definite no-no - and the validator won't pick this up. The dvlottery software will, though (that's the sophisticated image analysis software they run on these pictures, not the simple validator on the web site).

ok i got the pictures resized by a forum member not here another one and he did it for points ($$$) so that problem is gone now. Before resizing the pictures and giving him more points I want to be sure that the picture he resized is correct

2.

which one of em is correct ? these pictures are from digital cam so which one should i give to the dv lottery the 300 x 300 one or the 240 x 320 one ??

ONE BIG QUESTION

How Am I gonna know the Color Depth? How Can I Adjust it?

THANKS

Both are not acceptable.

1st: not in focus & reflection on background
2nd: not in focus, head too small, reflection on background

Bit Depth (24 bit) is ok

*edit*
Made mistake.

Your image is to big. Size must 2x2 inch, which mean the resolutions must 150 dpi to get 300x300 pixel

Both of them are valid when I checked thru the official website. The problem now about shining reflection at the back, length between head to chin and between eye to bottom of picture.

I am not sure about dpi to make 2x2 inch. I thought the 2x2 inch only the scanned result from digital scanner not for new digital image. Need other's advice on this.
